Don’t Think I’ve Forgotten, trailer

When I was a kid, I pushed away from my family like a lot of kids do. When I turned into an adult, I pulled it all back in (still pulling, tugging), listening to music and not hearing the shrillness of it but the warmth, the food, the language, all of it. Also helped that I couldn’t stop listening to the Zombies, Roky Erickson, et al., and hearing something so familiar! This is a little bit of a bummer, but it is mostly a joy. The music of being a kid. The cassette tapes in the white Nissan Maxima. The milky, fruity drinks in plastic bags wrapped around striped straws. Jellies. Braided pigtails. Anklets with bells. The summers at FDR Park.
